I don't even watch that crap fest "American Idol" (and don't really want to spend a great deal of time with people who do) but I still have to subjected to audio and video of Diana DeGarmo because she's from metro Atlanta (Snellville, to be exact). She's got a weird look about her, I can tell she'll be addicted to a variety of prescription pills by her 40th birthday. You can tell her mom drug her from audition to audition during Diana's childhood, which gives me a creepy Jon Benet feeling about the whole thing. Ugggghhhhh.

Cool - I'm an American Idol virgin too, and I thought I was the only one. It's not that I think it's low entertainment and I'm too good for it, because I watch plenty of crap on the boob tube myself; I just can't stand those kinds of amatuer singing competition things because hearing bad singing voices is like fingernails on a chalkboard to me. Which is not to say that I have a great voice, but then I'm not on TV.

i'm not up on the American Idol thing either... if a 'contestant' doens't make it to internet clips? i just don't know about it and THEN it had to make the rounds... like that crazy asian guy who did the ricky martin thingy.

        ok... back to discussion!

"American Idol" is like Star Search, but instead of Johnny Carson's sidekick hosting, there's a metrosexual dweed hosting it instead. I don't understand it either.

I saw the finals last year. I was sort of in that "looking at a car crash" mode and found I couldn't change the channel.

I just heard on the radio that Governor Perdue officially proclaimed today as Dial for Diana DeGarmo day...

I've watched the show for the first time this year just to see what all the hubbub was about...it was some sort of retrospective showing highlights and clips from all three seasons...it was this past Sunday night's show.

Personally, I don't get it, but at least its a bit nicer concept than the rest of the reality stuff.

I've only watched one reality show with any regularity, and that was Amazing Race. I guess because it's basically just a competition with a little reality thrown in (teammates fighting with each other) that makes it more appealing to me.

I helped host a reality show once. Well, it wasn't really a show, it was a fund raiser.

We held a raffle at my old college and the winners got to go through their very own "Survivor" experience. It was kind of fun to watch them squirm and we worked in shifts so that the people participating were the only ones that had to be sleep deprived.

Also, I did watch Joe Schmo twice because I thought that the concept was kind of funny.

    I have been contaminated.

I saw that they mentioned the finals of that show when I was in a bar tonight. I hope for Upside's sake (and everyone elses) that this Diana lost.

I also saw that Sonny Purdue threw a party over this stupidity. He should have been taking care of the people in Conyers (or making sure that they were okay instead).
