Good Chinese

I am picky about my Chinese food. No half-price bargain buffets for me. That stuff is just scary. Has to be nice, clean, pretty Chinese food where I can specify NO MSG.

That said, there is a good new Chinese restaurant on Roswell Road called Nyunya. I miss Orient Express since I moved away from Vinings, so I'm happy to finally have good Chinese in the area. It's located in the crappy shopping center with the Big Lot's, but is actually very nice inseide. And man, they deliver in NO time, it's great! I swear they delivered to my door in ten minutes the other night. (Seriously.)

Any others you know of? Chime in.

You know, I think it's a law of nature that any shopping center with a Big Lots will have an overall feel of crappiness to it. But if I'm in that neck of the woods and jonsing for Chinese, I will check it out.

The only thing that's a little too real are the Calamari. Be warned - entire baby squids fried up for ya. Heads and all.

I recommend Pyng Ho on Clairmont near N Decatur Rd (Decatur) as well as Lucky China (strangely, their food is really good) located at old Cub Foods Shopping center Scott and N Druid Hills...

my favorite chinese food was always some place on Buford Highway where the menu had pictures and were written in mandarin...i figured it was easier to order things that i might not otherwise order since i didn't know what it was half the time...and there was one place that was in some strip mall that had a bunch of little restaurants like a mall food court...they had some of the best and spiciest asian cuisine ever! i miss college.

Buford Highway has some good Korean places, too. Man, some kim chee would hit the spot...

speaking of good korean places on buford hwy, Hae woon dae. Korean BBQ. They are open until 6 a.m. every night/morning except wednesdays. Every time I go there I am very drunk and I end up deciding that eating raw garlic is a good idea. the next morning, nobody wants to get near me.

What exactly is Korean barbecue? Or Korean in general? Never eaten it.

at korean bbq places you pick from a list of meats that are marinated various ways. they put hot coals in this hole in the middle of the table and cook your meat there. you get lots of different types of kim chee and rice with to go along with it.
there are also a lot of other sides,....like this white cole slaw type stuff, some greens, these tiny whole fish in a red sauce, etc. at hae woon dae they always start with some leaf lettuce with raw garlic, peanut sauce, and some other sesame oil tasting sauce, and that's where the trouble begins for me.

Once the garlic hits the pores, it's game, set and match in terms of body odor.

    Great suggestions in this thread-

I also recommend Canton House and Little Szechaun (both on Buford Hwy south of the perimeter) and Hong Kong Harbor (Cheshire Bridge Rd).

Man, I'm moving back to Atlanta in a few weeks and I can't wait!
